There is something called a "condops". This is for someone who wants the best of both worlds.

2) Go for something small for the time being. When you are in medical school, you do not have much free time. You will be on-call a great deal. You may have a few nights off or a weekend, but that is about it. Most med students do not have a 9-5 schedule. You should be looking for somewhere to crash right now, nothing more. How is bigger going to benefit you when you are not there to enjoy it?

3) Is the apartment in good condition? Many assume that most Umass medical school apartments are in good condition. This may or may not be true. It depends on how the previous tenant left it. Double check on this. You are not going to have much money as a med student anyway. It may not be worth the money you have to put out for fix-up costs.
